Hope Town Inn and Marina played host last night to The Elbow Reef Lighthouse Society and Alex Klahm, an expert on lighthouse renovation. Mr. Klahm led a discussion centered around his findings and advice on restoring the one of a kind Elbow Reef Lighthouse. This iconic red and white candy striped lighthouse on Elbow Cay, Abaco, Bahamas has been keeping the light on since 1864. Over 30 members of the community as well as Lighthouse Society members were in attendance to learn all about Alex’s informative and enlightening strategy to restore this local landmark. The most important result of the discussion is that the Elbow Reef Lighthouse will finally start to get some much needed TLC. Keeping the light on will be a challenge, but in our passionate and hard-working community, there’s no doubt that the historic Elbow Reef Lighthouse will shine bright for generations to come.
