The 4th Annual Patrick Davis Hope Town Songwriters Festival was once again held this February on Elbow Cay, Abaco, and as expected it was yet another huge success. This year’s event concluded with the auctioning off of a number of highly prized Gibson Les Paul guitars to benefit local charities & organizations. The instruments, which were autographed by all of this year’s performers, found many of the enthusiastic crowd on hand at The Firefly Sunset Resort competitively bidding for their chance to take home one of the highly sought after guitars. When the final count was tallied the charitable auction had raised $8,000 for The Hope Town Fire & Rescue (www.HopeTownFireRescue.com), $8,000 for The Hope Town Primary School (www.HopeTownSchool.org) and $4,000 for Friends of The Environment Organization (www.FriendsOfTheEnvironment.org). The Patrick Davis Hope Town Songwriters Festival was created in 2012 by Lorenzo Barigelli, General Manager of The Firefly Sunset Resort, and Patrick Davis, singer and songwriter from Nashville, TN. These two friends’ vision of creating a destination Singer Songwriter Festival continues to be one of the highlighted events of the year in Elbow Cay, Abaco, Bahamas. The 5th Annual Patrick Davis Hope Town Songwriters Festival is scheduled to take place Feb. 14th thru Feb. 19th so mark your calendars now and maybe next year you’ll take home a signed Gibson Guitar of your own.
