MMTS to hold Casting Call in Abaco
NASSAU, The Bahamas – After the success of the Nassau casting call for the Music, Model & Talent Showcase of the Islands, MMTS, organizers are heading to Abaco to glean from the talent pool in that northern island famous for shipbuilding.
All roads lead to the Dundas Town Community Centre where residents will show their talents before MMTS Regional Scout, beginning at 11 am on Saturday, 20th September 2014.
CEO, Founder and Owner of MMTS Pia Glover-Rolle says she is extremely excited to see what talent – models, actors, singers, songwriters and music producers – Abaco will have to offer.
Mrs. Rolle, who is also President and Founder at PTG Marketing & Modeling Agency, hopes that Abaco residents register early and reserve their space as competition is expected to fierce.
PTG Marketing & Modeling Agency launched this new and exciting talent scouting event specifically designed to bring global attention to the vast talent pool in The Bahamas and the Caribbean dubbed, Music, Model & Talent Showcase of the Islands, MMTS.
The first casting call was held in New Providence on Saturday, August 16, 2014 during which residents between the ages of 5 to 65, males and females attended a free audition session at Mario’s Bowling Palace, Tonique Williams Darling Highway.
Before a panel of local judges, applicants were judged on:
- Modeling
- Singing
- Acting
- Music Production
- Song Writing
Out of the 213 people who registered, 133 came out to audition and there were 77 successful callbacks on Sunday, August 17.
The successful applicant from each audition session, will be assigned a coach who will engage them in mandatory pre-conference training for the inaugural week-long Conference scheduled for July 13 to 19, 2015 at the Melia Nassau Beach Resort on the new multi-billion Bahamian Riviera at Baha Mar.
The event is already buzzing in the ears of top international fashion and talent scouts, personal managers, casting directors, booking agents, record labels, modeling and talent agencies along with Grammy award winning producers and songwriters, who will judge MMTS competitions and conduct seminars; while searching for new and unique talents in these respective areas.
Additionally, agents from US, Europe, South Africa, China and Canada will spend a week in The Bahamas scouting new talent from the participating Caribbean islands, offering contracts and representation opportunities.
Some very recognizable names in the industry are already confirmed and excited to participate. There is great anticipation that the next big “star” will be discovered at MMTS 2015.
Some 34 countries including the Caribbean and The Bahama Islands have already confirmed their interest and participants. On board are: Anguilla, Antigua, Aruba, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Croix, St. John, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Tortola, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks & Caicos, Grand Bahama, San Salvador, Cat Island, Bimini, Eleuthera, Abaco, Exuma and New Providence.
MMTS is being billed as a one-of-a-kind event for the islands, and is the only modeling and talent showcase in the world specifically targeting the Caribbean market. MMTS is the brainchild of Pia Glover-Rolle, who heads top Bahamian firm PTG Marketing and Modeling Agency, which has a proven track record of success in modeling, talent development and placement in the industry, both locally and internationally.
MMTS is poised to bring approximately 1,500 plus stopover visitors to Nassau from July 13 to 19, 2015.
