Combustion Music is gearing up to host the 3rd annual Hope Town Music Festival the beautiful island of Elbow Cay in the Bahamas.
Last years’ event was a huge success and hosted 4 packed shows over 3 days, raising more than $55,000 for local charities; The Volunteer Fire Department, Every Child Counts and Friends Of The Environment. You can learn more about each charity and how impactful they each are to the island by visiting their websites.
This year, we are armed with some of Nashville’s top songwriters who have collectively written over 75 #1 songs; Ashley Gorley, Brett James, Ross Copperman, Chris Destefano, Matt Jenkins, Mickey Jack Cones, Walker McGuire,
Jameson Rodgers, and Chris Farren. More to be announced in the coming weeks. “This will be my 3rd trip to this incredible place, and I’ll keep coming as long as they’ll have me.” said hit writer Chris Destefano “This place seems to have a way of making everything right….the music, the friendship and the surroundings were all perfect.”
Combustion Music got the idea to host this event when Chris Farren, who has owned a home on the island for the past 12 years, decided it would be fun to bring a bunch of Nashville music to this little island where he spends much of his spare time. “Raising money for these 3 local charities is a no-brainer” says Farren. “All of my friends donate their time and talents, and together with the local community and some incredible Nashville sponsors, we raise a bunch of money that will all stay on the island and make a difference….not to mention the fact we all have a blast.”
The event starts on Friday night, Dec 2, with an opening show at the Hopetown Harbour Lodge and ends on Sunday night, Dec 4, at the Hopetown Inn and Marina.
Suntrust Bank, The Academy of Country Music, and ASCAP are major sponsors of this event, as well as Warner Chappell Music, Northwestern Mutual, A Plus Storage, The Basement East, Atlas Music Publishing, and Sword, Rowe & Company. Along with the venues and many other island based sponsors, each helped to raise an incredible amount of money. Be on the lookout for more details of this great event.
