Labor Day weekend has come and gone once again, which means the long days of summer in Hope Town full of swimming, sailing, fishing, surfing, and bike riding are almost over. To the children of Hope Town, it also means it’s time to head back to another year of school at the Hope Town School. On September 3rd many of those students could be found at the Hope Town Harbor Lodge for a Back to School party. All primary school students at the Hope Town School were invited to come kick off the school year at the Reef Restaurant in the Hope Town Harbor Lodge with a fun filled afternoon of celebration.
Abacobuzz.com was there to take in the festivities and also talked to some of the students in attendance about their summer vacations. Fourth grader Scotty Dubreus said that his favorite part of vacation was getting to visit his siblings Alan and Cassandra in Haiti for 7 weeks. Ella Russell also had a great vacation, visiting family in Minnesota where she was excited to shop in the biggest mall in the United States, the Mall of America. She also enjoyed the gymnastics camp she attended in Nassau.
The event was considered a success, complete with pool activities, a complimentary lunch, and most importantly free backpacks for all the kids packed with school supplies. The Hope Town School is a magical place where the children of Hope Town go to learn and grow, and the Hope Town Harbor Lodge wanted to help support the school by throwing this party to help start the school year off with a bang.
