Elbow Cay , Bahamas – A peek of my journal from Casuarina Point I walk across the road, through the neighbor’s yard and onto the serenity of peace and tranquility; the beach. I often wonder why anyone would want to live anywhere else in this World. It’s like stepping in another realm, one of pureness. The mirror-like reflection of the waters of the beach of Casuarina Point is one that brings second home owners back to our sweet, quaint community year after year. Visitors from near and far enjoy the quietness of Casuarina as it is miles out of town and not a food store, gas station, school, church or bank in sight once you have arrived until tomorrow’s trip. Residential homes is all that fills the relaxed land of Casuarina apart from the few vacation rental homes that set themselves ever so softly on the powder soft areas of the beach. Here we enjoy the sight of wild peacocks and beautiful sunsets as vibrant and subtle as they come. On an evening when the air is calm, the cascading music of the gentle waves sweeping the sun-kissed sand offers nothing more than the paradise that we truly are here in The Bahamas. When one comes to this remote part of the island, you can enjoy the pleasures of home-cooked Bahamian meals and desserts prepared and delivered for you by the native ladies of the area. Casuarina sets the scene of a perfect getaway. A place that you venture to when you are tired of the busyness of everyday life is where you will find yourself in Casuarina Point. The magnificence of beauty of the natural environment is simply beyond the description of any great writer and it’s often a reminder of the pleasures us natives take for granted and do not often enough enjoy ourselves.
